Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues,
It
is with great pleasure that I introduce the 10th EFAS
Instructional Course which takes place in Lyon on Friday and Saturday 13
and 14 June 2008. The course
programme has been arranged yet again by the EFAS Education Committee and
the modules which were introduced in Athens in 2007 have been refined and
adjusted for this years course. I
anticipate a focused and highly instructive course and we look forward to
meeting in Lyon which one of the gastronomic centres of Europe.
Our thanks go to the local organizers Jean Luc Besse and Yves
Tourné for their assistance with the logistics and social aspect of the
course.
I
look forward to meeting you in Lyon in June.

Lyon is a very busy congress city so please book your your accommodation

Exhibition
A commercial exhibition will take place in the École Normale Supérieure
on the 12, 13 & 14 June 2008. The
AFCP Spring meeting takes place on 12 June and an exhibition is arranged
and the EFAS Instructional Course exhibition takes place on 13 and 14 June
in the same venue.
Insurance
EFAS, the Local Organizing Committee, and the École
Normale Supérieure, accept no
liability for personal injuries sustained or for loss of or damage to
property belonging to delegates, either during or as a result of the
course. Registration Fees do
not include insurance. In
your own interests, you are strongly advised to check the validity of your
own insurance before attending the course.
Insurance should be purchased in your country of origin.

Cancellation
Policy
Please note that cancellations of
registrations received in writing by the organiser on of before 1st
May 2008 will be refunded but a €50 administration fee will be
withheld.
Cancellations
of accommodation
reservations received in writing by the organiser will only be cancelled
if the rooms are re-sold as the hotel policy for group reservations does
not allow cancellations.

The City of Lyon have put a large effort into making the city cycling
friendly. Automated Stations

Lyon has many fine Museums, including The Gallo-Roman Museum, The Fine
Arts Museum, and the Textile & Decorative Arts Museum.
All are open Wednesday – Sunday, and charge a small entrance fee.

region & The Dombes with its medieval villages.

Travel
and Transport
To get to the École Normale Superieure from St. Exupéry airport, take
the “Satobus” shuttle to the Part Dieu train station (Gare de la Part
Dieu). From the Part Dieu
train station, take the Vivier Merle exit. Once outside of the station
take the underground line B in the direction of the Stade de Gerland. Get
off the underground at the Debourg stop.
Taxis from the airport to the centre
of Lyon should cost €25-€30 approximately.

Weather
The weather in Lyon in June is usually pleasant and average temperature is
c. 18 celsius. A light jacket or sweater is recommended for evening.
